Chapter 2 The Willow’s whisper: A journey begins

In the morning, Lialie woke up with Fran speaking in her ear, ”Lialie, It’s time to get up.”

“Ugh,” said Lialie.

“Everybody else is already up and waiting for you to come out for breakfast. Get dressed and come into the dining room.”

When Fran left, Lialie sighed and got dressed. Before entering the dining room she can smell bacon, and maple syrup.

“Mmmm, That smells so good, Ana.” Lialie said as she walked into the room.

“Thank you, Lialie. Now let us eat!”

While they ate they discussed what they should pack.

They decided to only pack the essentials. They packed food, Frans sword, Lialie’s amethyst necklace, blankets, oats for the horses, and more food.

Later that day, they saddled the horses and rode toward the forest. Once in the forest, Grabroro directed them towards the Willow from the sky. To Lialie the forest seemed more dangerous during the day than it did the other night. So she decided to ask Benard, “Why does the forest seem more dangerous now than it did the other night?”

He replied “Thurus must know that we have come to search for you. He must have his dark sorcerers using their magic to find you.” Lialie shivered but not because she was cold.

Hvin then told them, “When we get to Vanderpyll, which is the whole country that Roheka and Thirell are in, when we get to the Council, and they will place magic shields around us so that his sorcerers can not find us. Here we are now.”

Lialie looked up and saw the Rainbow willow and screamed, ”LOOK OUT!”

Down out of nowhere came a beautiful creature. When it flew near her it was so sparkly that Lialie could not make out what it was.

Then it said in an appealing voice, “Princess. We must go.”  it landed beside her, and In a moment it had changed into a unicorn with an extra-long horn and large wings.

Diamond whispers to Lialie, “That is a shape-shifter pega-corn. They can change into all sorts of creatures, but they always change back into their natural form. The form it had just taken was a Sapphire Dragon.”

“Why are you here? Did you follow us?” says Benard.

The strange unicorn replies, “I did not follow you. The King sent me, because he had gotten wind of your plan to bring her home. He told me to tell you to take her to the Old One.”

Ana gasps.

“Her?! Are you crazy!!,” Hvin yells at the pega-corn.

Fran says as nicely and calmly as he can “Calm down. There must be a good reason that the King is sending us to her. Of course there better be a really good explanation to this, Astra.”

“You know this unicorn?!” Grabroro asked. “Of course! She was one of my best friends when I was in the King’s castle.” Fran replied.

“The unicorn, apparently called Astra, said.” When will you be ready to leave? The Willow is nearly ready to be used.”

Lialie looked at the Willow and noticed it seemed to have brighter colors displayed on its leaves. “We were coming to leave when you disturbed us. We should be ready to leave when the tree is ready.”

After a few moments Hvin said,” The tree is ready, Let us go through the.”

Lialie watched as Fran walked up to the tree. He then walked in a hollow section of the tree and in a flash of light he disappeared. Grabroro went next. Ana went next with Astra. Then the horses with Benard. Then Hvin. After that it was Lialie’s and Diamond’s turn. She walked up to the tree, as she had seen the rest of them do. She walked into the hollow and gasped as there was a great flash of light and everything went black.
